Eligibility 1. Fulfills the requirements for principal investigator specified in Article 3 of the Operation Guidelines for MOST Research Project Grants
2. Conducted MOST research projects in 2019
3. Has not applied for retirement according to the relevant regulations
1. Employed within the past 3 years and served as a principal investigator for a MOST research projects in 2019, and fulfills one of the following requirements:
 (1) Has not served as and is not currently a full-time instructor or researcher at any domestic academic research institute
(2) Has worked at a foreign academic research institute within 5 years before officially being recruited by TMU
1. Serves as a TMU full-time professor (excluding professors who hold joint appointments with TMU and alliance hospitals) and researcher
2. The grant will be terminated if the recipient resigns, takes unpaid leave, is deployed to another unit, or gets dismissed during the disbursement period.  
Papers Ten papers published within the past 5 years under the name of TMU serve as the basis for the calculation of research article scores. Professors and researchers transferred from other schools within the past 5 years may include their past work experience and research achievements for calculation. 1. Candidates eligible for the Reward for Outstanding Talent and Research Merit Pay for School Faculty and Researchers are advised to apply for both grants to ensure that their rights are protected.
2. Candidates who are simultaneously awarded the Reward for Outstanding Talent, Recruitment of Outstanding Talent, Ministry of Education (MOE) Yushan Project with MOE grants, or awarded the TMU Distinguished Professor and Research Merit Pay for School Faculty and Researchers grants may select only one as their merit pay.

Instructions:
1. Applicants must comply with the Operation guidelines for the MOST University Research Project Grant (MOST Guidelines; Appendix 1) and Grant Disbursement Guidelines for Recruiting and Rewarding TMU Outstanding Talent (Appendix 2).
2. Application deadline: 17:00 May 18 (Mon), 2020
3. Applicant eligibility (in accordance with MOST procedures): full-time TMU professor and researcher who has conducted research projects subsidized by the MOST within 1 year before the date of grant disbursement.
3.1 Applicants must fulfill the requirements for principal investigator specified in Article 3 of the Operation Guidelines for MOST Research Project Grants (Appendix link) and be verified as outstanding by the TMU evaluation mechanism in academic research, industry–university research, or interdisciplinary research (excluding those with outstanding performance in teaching or administrative work and those who have applied for retirement according to relevant regulations).
3.2 If recruited after August 1 one year before the date of grant disbursement, the grant recipient must be newly employed at a domestic academic research institute and must not be under recruitment from other domestic universities or institutes.
4. For this academic year (2020), this grant will be awarded for the period from August 1, 2020 to July 31, 2021. The grant recipients (professors and researchers) must submit a report of their performance during the grant disbursement period prior to April 2021.
5. Applicants must complete the online Description of Outstanding Talent Performance and Reasons for Recommendation and TMU Application Form for MOST University Research Project Grant Rewarding Outstanding Talent. Applicants must also upload relevant papers and documents and submit the application by the deadline (system link: http://rdsys.tmu.edu.tw/rpi/).
6. For the Recruiting and Rewarding TMU Outstanding Talent, the grant application must be submitted before an application for the Research Merit Pay for TMU School Faculty and Researchers. Candidates who are simultaneously awarded the Reward for Outstanding Talent, Recruitment of Outstanding Talent, Ministry of Education Yushan Project, TMU Distinguished Professor, or Research Merit Pay for School Faculty and Researchers grants may select only one as their merit pay.

3.1 Applicants must be employed within the past 3 years, served as a principal investigator for a MOST research project in 2019 and fulfill one of the following requirements:
(1) Have not served as and are not currently a full-time instructor or researcher at any domestic academic research institute
(2) Have worked in a foreign academic research institute within the past 5 years before official recruitment by TMU
4. In this academic year (2020), this grant will be awarded for the period from August 1, 2020 to July 31, 2021. The grant recipients (professors and researchers) must submit a report of their performance during the grant disbursement period prior to April 2020.
5. Applicants must submit one each of a printed copy of the TMU Application Form for MOST University Research Project Grant Rewarding Outstanding Talent (Appendix 3), copy of a certificate of appointment, relevant published paper (a copy of the paper containing the title, author order, and affiliation), and proof of 2018 JCR ranking by the deadline to the Office of Research and Development. In addition, an email containing one each of the mentioned documents must be sent to the administrator for application.
6. For the Recruiting and Rewarding TMU Outstanding Talent, the grant application must be submitted before an application for the Research Merit Pay for TMU School Faculty and Researchers. Candidates who are simultaneously awarded the grants for Reward for Outstanding Talent, Recruitment of Outstanding Talent, Ministry of Education Yushan Project, TMU Distinguished Professor, or Research Merit Pay for School Faculty and Researchers may select only one as their merit pay.

Research Merit Pay for School Faculty and Researchers
Instructions:
1. Applicants must comply with the Enforcement Rules for Research Merit Pay for TMU School Faculty and Researchers (Appendix 1).
2. All applications must be submitted online. The journal category ranking is based on the 2018 SCI and SSCI data. Please go to the Faculty Research Indicator System—Merit Pay Application (http://rdsys.tmu.edu.tw/rpi/) to provide relevant information and upload PDF files of journal paper offprints or patent certificates.
3. Application deadline: 17:00, May 18 (Mon), 2020

4.1 Applicant must serve as a full-time TMU professor (excluding professors who hold joint appointments with TMU and alliance hospitals) and researcher.
4.2 Grant will be terminated if the recipient resigns, takes unpaid leave, is deployed to another unit, or gets dismissed during the disbursement period.
